The Year of Your Best Body

sweat

I’m fresh off of ranting at the television. Have you ever done that? Argued with what someone on television is saying? I know she can’t hear me, but I can’t stop myself from talking back to one of my favorite people in the whole world, the amazing Oprah.

Have you seen those new and hideously off the mark Weight Watchers commercials? Who is writing this copy for her to read? WHO?

Newsflash: The year of your best body will be the year that you learn to love the hell out of it. ‪#‎stopthemadness‬

That doesn’t come from counting points. That doesn’t come from claiming that everyone who is overweight is somehow dead inside. That doesn’t come from devoting your entire year to getting “beach ready.” BARF.

Your body deserves your attention. Your body deserves power and pleasure food without keeping score. Your body deserves movement without demanding that it shrink or comply quickly with your desire for six pack abs.

Even MSNBC host, Melissa Harris-Perry, had something to say about Oprah latest ad. My fave part was when she pointed out that ZERO of Oprah’s awesome achievements have anything to do with her weight. Click here to read the full article.

Your body has waiting for you to stop being violent. Can you?

P.S. If part of your calling is helping women to make peace with their bodies, adding the BARE Certification to your toolkit could be a very good thing. Training begins in February. Details are right here:
