Burn It Up

In today’s episode, we’re going to be burning what isn’t serving us.

It’s time for those low-quality thoughts to BURN Baby BURN!

When was the last time you had a fiery desire to burn something to the ground?

Well for myself, it was when I hosted a completely over-the-top dinner party for fifty people in my own backyard in Evansville, Indiana.

See, recently I’ve had this deep-bellied desire for human connection in my professional and personal life.

Don’t get me wrong, I love connecting virtually with people all over the world, but nothing beats the magic that happens when you meet your clients, friends, and fellow life coaches face-to-face.

Pre-pandemic, my business looked a lot different. I still had plenty of online experiences like digital courses and masterminds, but I also had amazing offers centering on in-person experiences like luxe retreats to Italy or game-changing live conferences that helped hundreds of women to finish strong.

I love both sides of my business, the expansiveness of online connection and the thrill and depth of being together in the real world.

The pandemic stripped away those in-person experiences for a period of time. And like all of you, I adjusted my business accordingly. But as we began to emerge from quarantine, I had a massive craving to connect with people offline.

My idea was to host an impromptu dinner party at my home, for free. This felt pleasurable and exciting for me, and re-invigorated the ways in which I wanted to be doing business.

However, this idea also kicked up some nonsense and negativity, and my mind suddenly became filled with doubt.

As a life coach, I know that when this happens it’s time to eavesdrop on my thoughts and discover what I’m saying to myself. When I did that, I heard low-quality thoughts.

(A low-quality thought is any thought that makes you feel powerless, insecure, fearful, helpless, overwhelmed, or stuck.)

When I experience low-quality thoughts, I know it’s time to burn that low-quality mess to the ground and pivot to high-quality thinking.

A high-quality thought is any thought that makes you feel powerful, secure, fearless, or energized.

If you find yourself spiraling and wallowing in thoughts that don’t serve you, I want you to eavesdrop on yourself- and burn up those thoughts. Let’s welcome those fiery new high-quality thoughts and watch your entire existence sizzle and shine!

Listen to the full podcast episode and together we’re going to build a bright future by burning up what’s weighing you down.

In this episode, we discuss:

  • How to identify what's not serving you.
  • How to pivot from low-quality thinking to high-quality thinking.
  • How to burn what's weighing you TF down.

Susan Hyatt:
Welcome to the Rich Coach Club, the podcast that teaches you how to build your dream coaching practice and how to significantly increase your income. If you're a coach and if you're determined to start making more money, this show is for you. I'm master certified life coach Susan Hyatt, and I am psyched for you to join me on this journey. Hey, coaches. All right. When was the last time you had a fiery desire to burn something to the ground? Okay. Recently I had this deep belly desire for human connection in my business. So sure. Webinars, online challenges, live masterclasses are all great for connecting with people virtually all over the world. I mean, it is magic that all of you-all from all the different countries listening to this podcast can do so.
And I can't even believe how Zoom enables me to connect with clients in South Africa and New Zealand and Australia and England and Canada, you name it. But there's nothing that replaces that magical as fuck connection you get when you're face-to-face. So I hosted a completely over the top dinner party for 25 women in my own backyard in Evansville, Indiana. In fact, I did it twice. I did it Friday night and I did it Saturday night. And when I announced it, I expected people to be excited, but I had such an overwhelming response that's why I decided to host two of them back-to-back because I always do the most.
And we ate and we drank champagne and laughed and cuddled my puppies, Mork and Mindy, and most importantly burned to the ground what wasn't serving us. One attendee even said, "You know it's going to be a good night when you're setting things on fire at the dinner table." So if you didn't make my dinner party, don't worry. In today's episode, I'm going to teach you how to build a bright future by burning up what's weighing you down. Let's get into it. Something you may or may not know is that in a pre-pandemic world, my business looked a lot different. Sure. I've always had plenty of online experiences like digital courses and masterminds, but I also had amazing offers centering on in-person luxury experiences like retreats to Italy or game-changing live conferences that helped hundreds of women to finish strong.
I love both sides of this business, the expansiveness of the online connection and the thrill and depth of being together in the real world. And the pandemic stripped away those in-person experiences for a good period of time, like 18 months so far. And like all of you, I adjusted my business accordingly. But as we began to emerge from quarantine in the US, I had a massive craving to connect with people offline again. And my idea was to host an impromptu dinner party at my home for free. This felt generous, pleasurable and exciting for me and reinvigorated the ways in which I wanted to be doing business. But this idea also kicked up some nonsense and negativity.
As a life coach I know that when this happens it's time to eavesdrop on my thoughts and discover what I'm saying to myself. And when I did that, I heard thoughts like, "No one's going to want to come to Evansville, Indiana. It's a pain to travel here. People won't feel comfortable traveling right now. Everyone's telling me to double down on SEO, Facebook ads and more webinars. Should I really be putting time, energy and money into a free dinner party?" I call these low quality thoughts and a low quality thought is any thought that makes you feel powerless, insecure, fearless, helpless, overwhelmed, or stuck. And when I experience low quality thoughts and believe me I do, I know it's time to burn that low quality garbage to the ground and pivot to high quality thinking.
A high quality thought is any thought that makes you feel powerful, secure, fearless, or energized. For example, I can burn the thought that no one wants to come to my hometown right on up and replace it with a sizzling new thought, people do want to come to a charming small town and crave connection just like me and this thought proved completely true when not just 10, 20 people, but 65 people came to my house in total for an amazing dinner party. I can burn the thought that I should be focusing on other business strategies, even though people were agreeing with these low quality thoughts. You-all, confirmation bias is real and it's extra messy, but my high quality thought that leading with pleasure and fun is always the best way to run your business led to a priceless experience far better for me than any evergreen webinar.
So if you find yourself spiraling and wallowing in thoughts that don't serve you, I want you to eavesdrop on yourself and burn up those negative thoughts and then welcome in all those firing new high-quality thoughts and watch your entire existence sizzle and shine. Pep talk complete. All right. It's time for community wins. And this is the part of the show where I love to brag on you-all. I share wins and victories and beautiful accomplishments from my real life clients and from members of the Go Time Facebook group.
And so today I want to give a shout out to Zenica. So Zenica is a member of my On the 6 Mastermind and she's quite honestly so smart and so fabulous. And she sent me a private message that said, "So as my coach, I have to let you know that I'm totally having a money Monday over here. I signed my first two coaching clients this morning, and my boss at work called to tell me that I'll be getting a promotion this month. I guess money mindset May is bringing its harvest in June." I love these kinds of brags because some of you-all, me included, I'm including myself in this, want to walk away from the farm before we give the crops time to sprout.
And so entrepreneurs will plant the seeds and water the soil for a little while, but if we don't start seeing growth immediately come through, burst through that soil, we'll just walk away from the farm too soon. And then we miss because so much is happening underneath the soil. So much energy is circulating, so much goodness, so much word is being spread and it takes some time. And so I'm just so proud. Congratulations, Zenica. It's just so amazing. And hey, if you're listening to this and you're not yet a member of the Go Time Facebook group, get yourself in there because there's lots of amazing like-minded people in there who are all working towards building an amazing business.
And if you want more personalized help, we are enrolling for the On the 6 Mastermind. And you can check out the show notes for that or you could just Google Susan Hyatt On the 6. We would love to have you there. So let me see you inside the Go Time group and then let's get you enrolled in On the 6 so you can start having money mindset maze as well. So we have had a flurry of new podcast reviews, and I'm so excited about this one from Emily. Emily entitled this one "Five golden stars. Susan Hyatt's podcast is full of so much wisdom, witty stories and useful tips to implement in your business. When I get stuck in my head or need some motivation, I just listen to one of her Rich Coach Club episodes. She lights a fire under my butt every time I listen. Thank you for being like my mom, auntie, soul sister, best friend, all rolled into one."
Aah. "I have followed your work for a lot of years and the ripple out effect you talk about has helped me live a more authentic life because you are so real. There are so many fake people on social media. Susan is the real deal. Love her." All right, listen to me, Emily, you are fricking amazing for taking the time to send such thoughtful, positive feedback out into the world. I can't tell you, I know most of you listening if it was easier to go leave a podcast review, you would do it. I know you got to make a couple clicks and think about what you're going to say and all that. And it means so much every single week when I sit down to record this podcast, to know that there are people actually listening, who are getting something from this.
So thank you so much. Thank you, Emily. My heart would completely burst open if any of the rest of you want to leave a review. Mork and Mindy will send some tail wags. Okay. One more thing before you go, you may need to burn up more than low quality thoughts. Study other things in your life that might need to get swept into a fiery oblivion. Maybe it's a physical thing in your environment. Maybe it's a relationship. Maybe it's the media you're consuming. Maybe it's an outdated belief you have about money or wealth, but pay attention to what isn't serving you and then burn, baby burn. (singing).
I know y'all know that song. Listen, sing it with me and burn that shit up because life is too short to tolerate anything that doesn't support your brilliance and your magic. Okay. Thank you for listening to this episode of the Rich Coach Club podcast. I hope this episode has inspired you to burn up what isn't serving you. Thanks again for listening. And I invite you to go check out the Go Time Facebook group and also check out On the 6. We're going to put all the links in the show notes.
