My Top 5 Favorite Snack Ideas

Maybe you haven’t seen on Facebook that my kitchen has been gutted and under renovation since May 1. Oy. No one
can prepare you for not having a kitchen for 65 days (and counting). Can I just say that I have WORN OUT all of my cold heathy fuel food choices. Seriously. Once my kitchen is operational (about 10 more days), I’ll be “rattling the pots” as my Grandma used to say.

Until then, I thought I’d share some of my top five favorite fuel snack ideas, since I know that while you might have a working kitchen, you may also not want to cook all the time.

1. Hummus- I love Roasted Red Pepper hummus. Dip veggies in it or use it as a spread on a sandwich.

2. Turkey Roll Ups- The best sliced deli turkey you can find. Do not even come at me with Oscar Meyer or some other nonsense. No. Get real turkey, wrap up some sliced avocado and a dollop of hummus. Feast.

3. NOOSA Organic Yogurt– Let me just tell you that if you are eating low fat yogurt, you might want to leave that shit in the early ’90s where it belongs and try some full fat goodness. NOOSA is made by the Australians, and per usual, the Aussies do things right. I buy mine from Fresh Market and savor every delicious bite.

4. Fruit and Nuts- I have a bowls of bananas, apples, peaches at the ready. Great for walking out the door. I also like to have almonds handy to grab and go too.

5. Chia and Kind Bars- You can find both of these at Fresh Market and most groceries. The Chia seed bars are great for energy, too.
