Mason Jar Oatmeal– Breakfast for a Week

Something gorgeous is happening weekly in my kitchen. Y’all know I have a new Nonna, right? Well she’s got me HOOKED on these Oatmeal Mason Jars.

Here’s the basic recipe:

-Use pint sized canning jars so that you have room to add boiling water and let it steam.

-Add 1/2 cup dry rolled/old fashioned oats to the bottom of the glass jar

-Add your favorite fruit, nuts, jam, chia seeds, etc. My favorite flavor right now is almonds + apple+ cranberries. See links below for adding spices and more flavor.

-Pour 1 cup BOILING HOT water (milk if you prefer) into each jar.

-Let sit for 5-10 minutes. I really like the consistencey of mine to be thick, so I let it sit longer.

I found this awesome resource for making them and creating your own recipes for them here.

You can make cleaner ones using steel cut oats. My friend Dani Spies breaks is down here on a video for you.
