Helping Clients Even When You’re Not Perfect

Does this thought ever cross your mind?

You think to yourself:

“I want to teach women how to love their bodies and feel confident in their skin. But… the truth is, I am not ‘perfect’ when it comes to body stuff. I struggle sometimes, too. How can I help my clients with something that I haven’t totally mastered yet? I don’t want to feel like a hypocrite.”

I want to reassure you…

You are not a hypocrite.

You can be an excellent business consultant even if you’ve made some business mistakes in the past. Your rock-bottom moments have taught you priceless lessons that you can impart to your clients!

Similarly, you can help women with body issues even if you sometimes struggle with this stuff, too. The fact that you’ve struggled means you have even more empathy for your clients. You get what they’re going through. You’re an insider, not an outsider peering in.

You don’t need to be a “perfect” person in order to be a capable, competent, and effective service provider for your clients.

What you do need is compassion, understanding, great listening skills, and a big collection of tools that you can share with your clients.

xoxo, Susan
