I have been a podcast host for more than a decade with over 600 episodes under my belt, I have led retreats on five continents, and I built a multimillion dollar company from a spare room in Evansville, Indiana on nothing but word of mouth and nerve.
The short version is simpler. I am the woman who will look you dead in the eye and tell you that you are allowed to want more and then help you develop the plan to go get it.
I am a Master Certified Life and Business Coach, a bestselling author twice over with a third book on the way, a TEDx speaker, and the founder of Susan Hyatt Inc.
I built this business one client at a time, mostly local women at first, then women all over the country and the world. I became a Master Certified Coach, went on to train and certify hundreds of other coaches through the University for Life Coach Training, and turned one woman with a phone and a big mouth into a company that has coached thousands of women and earned millions of dollars, from a town in a flyover state.
I have been organizing events and gathering people since I was sixteen, so gathering women was always going to be part of my life.
In college I majored in political science and women's studies. I started out in public relations, then real estate, burned out and driving around town with a car full of signs, until one afternoon I caught my own reflection in the rearview mirror and realized I was building a life my kids would remember as very tired. In 2007, I hired a life coach, changed my life, and then went and got trained to do it for other women.

“Difficult” Women live longer
I’ve watched too many brilliant women talk themselves out of the money, rest, pleasure, and power that was theirs to enjoy, because somebody taught them that wanting those things made them selfish or difficult or “too much.” I am done with that lie, and I am done being polite about the system that keeps selling it.
So now, I do this loud. I talk about money, desire, rage and joy in the same breath, because women are allowed to have every bit of it. I decided that aging “gracefully” was of the Patriarchy and began exploring Aging Offensively…the radical idea that a woman could get stronger and bolder and more herself as she gets older. My feminist writing reaches millions of people, and my mission fits on a bumper sticker.
Be ungovernable.
Somewhere along the way, being “nice” about it stopped being an option.

I have been married to my husband Scott, the Silver Fox, for thirty three years. We are empty nesters now with two grown kids in their twenties, which means the house is quieter, though the three dogs, three cats, and a backyard full of wild birds keep me highly entertained.
You can usually find me out on the water boating, on a paddleboard, under a barbell, or on a run. I love to travel and I love to lift, and I take my training as seriously as I take my business. When I am home, I am probably watching Murder, She Wrote with the reverence most people save for prestige television, because Jessica Fletcher is a feminist icon and I will not be taking questions on that.
